🕵️‍♂️🔍 Crime Scene Investigation in Action!

Mrs. Alexander’s and Mrs. Hill’s Forensics classes put their skills to the test as they worked to solve unsolved crimes. Students collaborated in groups to follow clues, analyze interview statements, review autopsy reports, and examine evidence—all to bring a fictional killer to justice. 🗂️

They loved applying the knowledge they’ve gained this semester, and their investigative skills were on full display! 🔬⚖️

🍭🍬 Candyland was a HUGE success! 🌟

A big THANK YOU to everyone who planned, prepared, and worked so hard to celebrate our students who follow PBIS expectations every day. This event truly took a team, and what a team we have! 💙

✨ Shoutouts to our incredible crew:
🍬 PBIS Team – Outstanding work making this day happen!
🎨 Mrs. Dawson and her classes – Designing, decorating, planning, and cleaning up… you made the magic!
📣 Dr. Busbin – For creating all the signs, checking students in, and (enthusiastically!) directing me all day. “Check that door! Check that bathroom!” Thanks for keeping us all straight!
🍭 Mrs. Herbert – For making cotton candy… and more cotton candy… and even more cotton candy.
🍿 Mr. Martin – For popping an insane amount of popcorn while rocking an apron like a pro.
🏃‍♂️ Mr. Acree – For running the obstacle course and keeping the energy high. If you haven’t seen his dance moves… consider yourself blessed.
🏠 Mrs. Forshee – For leading the Gingerbread House station. No gingerbread men or women were harmed (as far as we know).
🤝 Mr. Losada, Mrs. Walls, Ms. Day, Mrs. Coleman, and Miss McLemore – Thank you for giving up your planning time and helping in every way needed.
✨ Student Council & Student Ambassadors – Jumping in wherever help was needed—thank you!
🙌 And to the many other teachers who stopped by to lend a hand throughout the day—we appreciate you!

Candyland wouldn’t have been possible without every single one of you. THANK YOU for making it a sweet success! 🍬💙

What Are High School Pathways?

High school pathways are structured programs of study that help students explore their interests and prepare for future careers or college opportunities. Each pathway connects classroom learning with real-world skills, giving students a chance to focus on specific areas-such as health sciences, engineering, business, arts, or technology-while still completing their core academic requirements.

By choosing a pathway, students can:

Explore potential careers and discover what they're passionate about.

Gain hands-on experience through projects, internships, or specialized courses.

Earn valuable credentials or college credits before graduation.

Build a strong foundation for success after high school, whether in college, technical training, or the workforce.

Pathways don't "lock" students into one career-they're designed to help students learn, explore, and make informed choices about their futures.

🚓 SRTC (Tifton) Criminal Justice TCC Students Explore Law Enforcement in Action 👮‍♂️🔍

SRTC (Tifton) Criminal Justice TCC students from Tift County High School recently participated in a hands-on field trip as part of their Criminal Procedures course. Their visit to the Warner Robins Police Department offered an in-depth look at real-world law enforcement operations.

Students toured multiple areas of the department, including the interrogation and interview rooms, roll call and observation rooms, property intake, weapons testing area, forensics and trace labs, evidence holding area, and booking area. They also had the opportunity to practice latent print lifting, gaining valuable forensic experience.

Throughout the day, students learned about officers’ roles in the community, arrest powers, training, qualifications, and the many responsibilities involved in criminal justice procedures. They viewed training videos and engaged in discussions with Jail Detention Officers about their essential roles in the justice system.

Before departing, students toured the holding cells and paddy wagon, and each student received a Challenge Coin along with other souvenirs for their participation.

🚔 Tift County High School Criminal Procedures Students Prepare for Mock Trial ⚖️

Students in the Tift County High School Criminal Procedures class (Tifton Justice TCC Program) are gearing up for an upcoming mock trial titled "Texting While Driving."

The case centers on a civil lawsuit in which an injured passenger is suing a teen driver for negligence after a serious crash. Students will examine key legal questions, including whether the driver was distracted by texting, intoxicated, or otherwise breached their duty of care—ultimately causing the plaintiff’s severe injuries.

Participants will analyze witness testimony, phone records, and accident-scene evidence before the trial concludes with a jury deliberation on liability and damages. This hands-on experience highlights the very real consequences of distracted driving and the importance of responsible decision-making behind the wheel.
