Georgia Milestones Assessments for Middle School Students

Sixth Street Academy students will be taking the Georgia Milestones Assessment Monday, April 18, 2016 to Friday, April 29, 2016. Students in grades 3 through 8 will take an end-of-grade assessment in the content areas of language arts, math, science, and social studies. Our students have worked extremely hard to learn the required Common Core State Standards for their grade level. We do not want our students to be unduly stressed about the testing, but we do want them to understand the importance of it. Our 6th graders will test April 18th to April 22th, 7th graders will test April 25th to April 29th, and 8thgraders will test April 18th to April 29th.

It is extremely important that 7th and 8th grade students arrive to school on time at 8:00 a.m. Students arriving after 8:15 a.m. will have to make up the missed portion of the test in a make-up testing environment. The 6th grade students will start testing at 11:30 a.m. If they are tardy they need to arrive to school no later than 11:15 a.m.

It is also important that no child be allowed to check out once the test has begun. Morning testing will conclude around 11:30 a.m. Afternoon testing will conclude around 2:45 p.m. To allow every student the opportunity to do his/her best, there will be no interruptions during testing.
